Product description
Compatibility and fit: This remote is made to replace the Casablanca 99198 and is compatible with Hunter fan remote part numbers K6266-A1, K6266-02, K6266-03, K6266-04 and K6266-13. It provides remote-only control and is intended for use with the matching 99199 receiver (sold separately) to enable full wireless operation for Casablanca pull-chain models.
Construction and size: The handset is molded from durable ABS plastic with a matte finish and a lightweight feel. Approximate dimensions are 5.5 in (length) x 1.5 in (width) x 0.8 in (thickness). The compact wall mount accepts the remote for tidy storage when not in use.
Control features: Once paired, the remote offers four distinct fan speed settings (Low, Medium, Med-High, High) so you can dial in airflow. The unit also provides full-range light dimming for compatible bulbs, enabling anything from bright task illumination to a low ambient glow.
Bulb and fan style guidance: The dimmer function works with dimmable LED bulbs and incandescent lamps. Non-dimmable LEDs and all CFL bulbs will only support on/off control through the remote. This remote is suitable for most downrod-style ceiling fans and is not recommended for hugger or flush-mounted fans.
Pairing steps: Connection is intentionally simple. 1) Cut power to the fan at the wall switch or breaker. 2) Install two AAA batteries (not supplied) into the remote. 3) Restore power. 4) Within three minutes, open the battery cover and press the pairing button on the remote. A single audible beep confirms a successful link.
Contents and power: Package includes one remote control, one wall mount holder, one user manual and two mounting screws. This is not a universal controller; it requires two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included) for operation.
Pros
- Easy, quick pairing
- Four fan speeds plus full dimming
- Designed to match original Casablanca/Hunter units
Cons
- Needs the 99199 receiver for full functionality
- Not suitable for hugger/flush-mount fans
- Requires two AAA batteries (not included)
VerdictA straightforward drop-in remote for owners of compatible Hunter and Casablanca fans. It restores full wireless control — four speed settings plus smooth dimming — and pairs with a simple routine. Keep in mind it requires the matching 99199 receiver to unlock all features and is intended for downrod fans, not flush- or hugger-style fittings.
