Made from 100% food-grade silicone, this edge protector is free from phthalates and BPA. The soft, flexible material offers greater shock absorption and chew resistance than thin plastic or foam alternatives, and it tolerates temperatures up to about 400°F. The product is supplied as a single 3-foot roll of clear silicone edging with pre-applied adhesive backing to simplify application.

The near-transparent silicone is formulated to be low-profile so it does not dramatically alter the look of most furniture. It adheres to a wide range of surfaces — wood, glass, metal, marble and cement — and can be used on countertops, tables, window sills, crib rails and more. It also reduces scuffing where furniture meets walls.

Installation is straightforward: clean and dry the surface, peel the protective liner from the tape, position the edge guard, press firmly while smoothing out air pockets, and allow the adhesive to set for about 24 hours. For removal, warming the adhesive with a hairdryer loosens the bond so the silicone can be peeled away; any lingering adhesive typically dissipates or can be cleaned off without harming finishes. Expect a temporary adhesive smell after installation that fades within a few days.
