Product description
Constructed from 14-gauge steel, this recessed floor box is built to withstand heavy use in live-sound environments. The housing features a hinged lid with molded cable grooves that permit connectors to remain in place while the cover is closed. A removable solid metal plate insert is secured with screws; the plate measures 8.25" x 6".
The recommended hole cutout for flush mounting is 6.5" x 8.75". This model ships with twelve female XLR connectors already terminated to pigtails that exit the chassis, color coded for easy identification. If you’re not comfortable soldering, the prewired leads let you connect standard mic cables directly to the pigtails or to an under-stage snake without additional termination.
There is provision for a 110V outlet in the enclosure (where applicable), but mains wiring should be completed by a qualified technician to meet local electrical codes. Typical use is to drop the unit into the stage, secure the plate, run the pigtail or extension cables beneath the platform, and then plug into a mixer or snake to keep cable runs concealed and organized.

Handy recessed pocket
This is my second or third unit from this maker. The prewired XLRs save time. It came with a tiny magnetic card that showed the color mapping; I marked them permanently for clarity. Note that the 110V outlet needs a licensed electrician to wire. Overall a useful piece of gear.

Great for multi-mic drum rigs
Build quality is solid; the XLRs are soldered and heat-shrunk and pre-terminated. After getting a separate XLR snake, fitting this for an eight-mic drum kit was quick and tidy.

A little too shallow for thick heads
With high-grade mic cables in the top row the lid won’t sit fully flush because there isn’t room for a gentle bend after the connector strain relief. The pigtails themselves are high-quality, though, as are the connectors.

Extremely straightforward setup
I started with a six-XLR unit and kept buying more because these are built tough. They take being walked on during events and keep working. The prewired leads make installation almost plug-and-play: drop the box in, connect the under-stage extensions, and you’re finished. Signal quality is indistinguishable from direct connections.

Well made, packaging needs work
Sturdy construction and no operational issues, but the foam packing broke apart and made a mess. I wish the pigtails were longer — our stage is two feet high, so the connections hang in midair without extra slack.

Unexpected connector inconsistency
I ordered two of these and found a plastic female connector among otherwise metal ones on one unit. The discrepancy was surprising and those units were replaced due to the defect.
