Product description
What’s included: a compact line spooler with an integrated mechanical counter and a set of 5-inch braid scissors with serrated 420 stainless blades and a soft rubber grip.
Integrated counter and functionality: the spooler’s built-in counter records how much line you transfer onto a casting or spinning reel, making it easy to split one filler spool between two reels or add the correct amount of backing to spinning or fly reels. Instruction cues are printed on the unit to guide setup and operation.
Materials and construction: the main body is molded from a durable amorphous polymer that resists heat, chemicals, and impacts. Key load-bearing components are made from a tough thermoplastic designed for high mechanical strength and impact resistance. The scissors feature corrosion-resistant 420 stainless steel blades with a polymer coating and a comfortable rubberized handle.
Patent-pending spooler design: the three-position clamping system adjusts to fit most rod blanks, from about 0.15" up to 1.00" in diameter, and a slide lock allows quick adaptation for larger or smaller filler spools. Adjustable tension bands let you set ideal line tension while winding.
No-twist spooling and spool orientation: for casting reels the filler spool axis sits perpendicular to the rod so line unrolls and rolls directly onto the reel without twisting; for spinning reels the filler axis aligns parallel to the rod so the line uncoils and winds onto the spool properly. The maximum filler spool capacity is 3.5" wide by 4.5" diameter.
How to use: mount the filler spool on the hub, secure the rod in the clamp, route the line through the tension band and attach to the reel spool, then turn the handle while watching the counter. The serrated braid scissors make trimming knot ends and cutting braided or monofilament lines quick and precise. Portable and straightforward, this kit lets you wind fresh line at home or on the water.
Pros
- Integrated counter for measured spooling
- Three-position clamp prevents line twist for spinning and casting
- Sharp 5" 420 stainless braid scissors included
Cons
- Counter can be inconsistent at times
- Plastic fittings may wear with heavy use
- Rod clamp may struggle with very large blanks
VerdictThis combo gives anglers a practical, portable way to spool reels with measurable line length and minimal twist. The molded polymer body and thermoplastic reinforcements keep weight down while resisting impacts, and the included 420 stainless scissors cut braid cleanly. Expect simple, repeatable results for most users, though the counter and some plastic fittings can be finicky under heavy, freque

Does the job, but counter is unreliable
It holds the filler spool steady and lets you fill a reel easily. I docked a star because the counter sometimes jumps or stops registering during one load. Not a deal breaker unless you need pinpoint accuracy every time.

Decent but feels cheaply made
It performed as advertised, but the construction seemed a bit flimsy for the price.

Works as expected — recommend
Easy to assemble and simple to use, great for spooling reels on your own.

Useful tool with a few areas that need work
Overall it helps fill reels reliably, but there are some shortcomings. The counter is handy when it behaves, and the rod holder opens wide enough for many blanks. Switching between spinning and casting orientations is convenient, and the braid scissors cut well. My concern is the spool attachment and post area — with frequent changes I worry those sections could wear; a reinforced hub would help. The clamp feels like it could be beefed up for very heavy rods.

Spools accurately — solid addition
Setup took a few minutes, but once dialed in I spooled my reel to the recommended length without issue. I’ve had good luck with gear from this maker and this unit is a handy new tool in my tackle box.

Quick setup and straightforward
I’d never owned a spooler before and decided to try this one. The instructions are easy to follow and it worked as described for loading my spinning reel. Haven’t tested it on a casting rig yet.

Simple to use, counts feet as you go
Much better than the setups I used before. It tallies footage while you spool and the printed setup directions prevent line twist. Faster and more accurate than my previous method.
