Product description
This listing includes two extra-large Ice Sticks, each holding roughly 16 ounces. The cylinders measure about 2.5 inches across and 7.5 inches tall — sized to sit inside common beverage dispensers, insulated water jugs and larger coolers.
Each Ice Stick is made from translucent, medical-grade #2 HDPE plastic; the screw caps are polypropylene (#5). No dyes or colorants are added. Materials are free of BPA and phthalates and meet typical food-contact standards. The pieces are manufactured in the USA and are safe for repeated freeze–thaw use.
To use: remove the cap, fill the tube with water but leave roughly a half-inch of headspace so the contents can expand when frozen. Stand the tube upright in the freezer and allow about 6–10 hours to solidify depending on your freezer’s temperature. Once frozen, screw the cap back on to limit dilution or remove the cap if you want extra chilled water mixing into the drink.
The wide mouth makes filling straightforward, and the reusable design removes the need for trays and loose cubes. For a completely plastic-free ice column, cut the top off the tube after filling, freeze, then run under water to ease the frozen cylinder out and slide it into your dispenser.
Care tips: freeze upright, make sure caps are tight before freezing, and don’t overfill. The tubes are top-rack dishwasher safe for cleaning.
Pros
- Large volume provides long-lasting cooling
- Reusable, easy to fill and clean
- Food-safe HDPE with BPA-free caps
Cons
- May be difficult to remove from narrow bottles
- Requires many hours to freeze solid
- Not compatible with every container shape
VerdictA practical pair of refillable ice cylinders that provide extended cooling for big containers. They’re food-safe, dishwasher-tolerant and simple to fill. They won’t suit every narrow-mouthed bottle and require several hours to freeze, but for dispensers, picnic jugs and coolers they deliver long-lasting cold without constant dilution.

Does the job but awkward to extract
These chill as advertised, yet they’re a pain to pull out from inside a thermos. A loop on the cap would help a lot. If the bottle is nearly empty they fall out, but with liquid inside you need a fork or a tool to hook the bottom of the cap—gripping with tongs didn’t work.

Perfect for long bike rides and uninsulated tanks
I freeze several and toss them into a 12 L water tank I carry on my ebike for long rides in hot weather. They keep already-chilled water pleasantly cool for hours, and when my tank gets low I can open a stick and drink the water inside it.

Handy for keeping insulin cool while traveling
I use these on week-long trips where fridge access is unreliable. Packaged in my insulated jug they keep my insulin at a safe temperature all day. I monitor with a small thermometer so I don’t have to open the container constantly. They’re a simple, effective solution for transportable cold storage.

Stopped fitting my insulated bottle after freezing
Disappointed with durability. After a few freeze cycles the stick’s walls bulged and it no longer fit my Hydrotherm bottle. It used to fit fine but now is useless for that purpose.

I cut the top off and they make perfect ice plugs
I followed another user’s tip and removed the top on two of the sticks so I could slide the frozen cylinder straight into my aluminum bottle. I fill leaving a little gap for expansion, run warm water on the plastic to loosen the ice, and it slips in easily. With cold tap water and a tea bag I get crisp, cold tea all day without dilution. Pre-making a few and storing them ready to go is a smart idea.

Melts faster than I expected
I thought a big ice stick would last much longer, but these melt almost as fast as regular ice in my flavored waters. At least they don’t water down drinks when capped, but they didn’t deliver the slow melt I hoped for.
