Product description
What’s in the box: two dual-sided whetstones (one combining 400/1000 grits, the other 3000/8000 grits), a flattening stone, an oval 240-grit stone and a combo 120/240-grit stone. The kit also includes an anti-slip bamboo base for the stones, an angle/honing guide, a separate honing guide adapter for chisels, a soaking bowl, a leather strop with polishing paste, and a pair of cut-resistant gloves.
Materials & design: The main whetstones are four-sided blocks designed to give coarse to ultra-fine surfaces for steel refinement, while the additional stones target specific repair and intermediate steps. The bamboo base stabilizes stones during use, and the strop is leather with a small jar of compound to bring blades to a mirror-like finish. Gloves are intended to improve safety while working with sharp edges.
How to use: Soak the whetstones briefly in water as directed, mount the stone on the bamboo base, and work progressively from low to high grit to remove chips, re-establish bevels and polish the edge. Use the flattening stone to keep the water stones level; the honing and angle guides help maintain a consistent bevel angle; finish on the leather strop to remove burrs and polish. The kit can sharpen kitchen knives, pocket blades and chisels, with the chisel adapter helping to hold narrow tools at the correct angle.
Care tips: Stones should be soaked or wetted according to manufacturer guidance and flattened periodically to prevent uneven wear. The leather strop benefits from a little paste for polishing, and gloves should be inspected frequently—treat them as supplementary protection rather than full-proof cut resistance.

- Comprehensive accessory set (strop, guides, base)

VerdictThis kit supplies a wide range of grits and accessories for restoring edges, maintaining bevels and achieving a polished finish. Expect a learning curve: flattening and honing can take significan

Simple and effective
They perform as advertised. The stones are on the softer side but deliver competent results when used properly.

Solid multi-grit set — works well for chisels with caveats
As someone with a few sharpening systems under my belt, this kit did what it promised: the 400→8000 range cuts and polishes effectively and the stone holder is sturdy. The sharpening wheel is functional, but for chisels I prefer a separate clamp that holds a true 30° angle. Two points to note: sharpening is a messy task — expect slurry and protect your work area and clothing — and it takes time. Flattening and getting a perfectly flat chisel back took many hours of patient honing, far more than quick online clips suggest.

Complete kit — gloves fall short
This set let me take a damaged, dull blade and bring it back to a sharp edge; it also maintains edges that a honing steel couldn’t save. However, the so-called cut-proof gloves failed quickly—one stone wore a hole on first use. Aside from that, the kit is very useful.

Excellent starter set for newcomers
Well thought out for someone who hasn’t used stones before. Far superior to the inexpensive kits I grew up with. If handled correctly these stones should last a long time; very pleased and likely to buy another.

Impressive unboxing — lots of gear to learn with
Pulled everything out and it really looks comprehensive: 400/1000 and 3000/8000 whetstones, flattening stone, soaking bowl, guides, gloves and a leather strop. The bamboo base looks sharp and the components feel solid. Haven’t put all my blades through a full sharpening cycle yet, but the collection inspires confidence that I’ll be able to get great edges with practice.

Good kit but the soaking tray leaks
The soaking container leaked right away, so I repurposed it as a sponge holder. Everything else feels solid and serves its function. There’s an adapter for chisels and the set removes the need to mix parts from different sellers; still learning the technique but overall a convenient all-in-one package.
