Product description
Build variety — One pack includes enough plastic plates, gears, wheels, shafts, connectors and decorative stickers to assemble fourteen distinct robot types, from simple walkers to more advanced designs such as a wagging-tail dog, running beetle, crab walker and chase-style bots. The kit is designed so the same motor and drive components can be repurposed across many models, encouraging repeated construction and experimentation.
Power options — A removable solar panel is supplied that converts sunlight into electrical energy to turn the motor and drive mechanism. For indoor play or when sunlight is weak the kit supports an optional single AAA battery (battery not supplied). Wires and a motor module are included for both setups.
Materials and size — Parts are molded from impact-resistant ABS plastic and arrive on sprues that require careful trimming. Gears, axles, wheels and plates are sized for child-friendly assembly but contain small pieces; recommended age guidance is 8+. Stickers and cosmetic parts are included for customization.
Learning focus — The set provides a hands-on introduction to mechanics, simple circuits and renewable energy. Illustrated, step-by-step picture instructions walk builders through the gearbox, drive train and model variants, promoting problem-solving, fine motor skill practice and STEM curiosity without screen time.
Use and care — Expect to need a small cutting tool or clippers to free parts cleanly from frames and to trim flashing for smooth movement. Some assemblies require careful gear alignment and polarity checks on wiring. Keep spare small parts and supervise younger children during the more intricate builds.
Pros
- Many model variations for extended play
- Dual power: solar panel or AAA battery
- Durable ABS plastic components
Cons
- Small parts require careful handling
- Some models need precise gear alignment
- Solar panel can be weak in low light
VerdictThis 14-in-1 solar robot kit delivers a lot of learning and replay value: multiple models to construct, dual power via solar panel or an AAA battery, and robust ABS components. Assembly ranges from easy to fiddly depending on the model and requires cutting parts from frames. Solar output can be marginal for some builds, so expect to test in direct sun or use the battery option. Overall it’s a stro

Regalo riuscito: materiali buoni
Preso per mio nipote di dieci anni. I materiali sono solidi e gli è piaciuto molto. È stato un regalo apprezzato.

Grandson hooked — ordered several
Picked one up on sale for my nearly 12-year-old grandson who loves assembly toys. He really enjoys building the models and had a blast. Delivery was quick and he keeps asking for another kit.

Good for kids into engineering — check motor polarity
The frame is a bit tricky to put together, but the completed robot is satisfying to run. Mine moved the wrong direction until my 7‑year‑old flipped the black and red leads — then it worked as expected.

Perfect present for a curious 8-year-old
Although labeled for older kids, I gave this to my 8-year-old who enjoys building. He needed help cutting parts free at first, then assembled happily. One piece went missing, but customer support replaced it free after I sent a photo. We'll buy more kits from this maker.

Very disappointing — multiple kits failed
We bought six packs as gifts and none worked. Even in strong sun or with a UV lamp there was no meaningful movement. Some plastic pieces were warped and wires felt too thin. Unfortunately they became paperweights instead of toys.

Neat gift — nephew excited to assemble
Bought this as a present and my nephew was thrilled. Parts arrive on frames and need separating, but that wasn’t a problem. He’s eager to build it and everything in the box looked complete and in good condition.

Loads of configurations; stickers are fiddly
Fourteen different robots makes this a long-lasting kit. I built it with two grandsons; kids around 10–13 will still want some adult help. Many small stickers and picture-only instructions slow things down, but once the power unit and drive train are done you can reuse them across models.

Requires a cutting tool; ours barely ran
You need clippers to remove pieces cleanly. Helping my nearly 5‑year‑old kept him entertained for days — labeled bags and pictorial instructions helped. Downsides: trim sharp bits, the kit omits a cutting tool, and our motor only ran for a split second before stopping.

Fun STEM project, but solar can be unreliable
The gearbox took time and careful alignment; my first test failed until I reassembled the gears correctly. Some models struggled in sunlight alone, so I wired it to a battery and it ran fine. My brother loved playing with the finished robot and we appreciated the many model options to keep interest high.
