Spooky Halloween Recipes for Parties, Snacks and Treats

20+ vegan and gluten-free Halloween inspired recipes including candies, baked goods, and snacks. Mix and match to create the perfect spooky spread.

Friends, I can’t believe my first marathon is this weekend.

Me. 26.2 miles. Chicago. Let’s go.

As with other big milestones, I find myself mentally splitting life into two parts: before the marathon and after the marathon.

For now, most of my answers to any request are a variation of, “I’ll get to it after the marathon.” My head is full of race maps, carb-loading plans, running gear, and the usual goal: just make it through.

The longest run in my training plan was 20 miles — challenging but doable — and everyone keeps telling me the last six miles are as much mental as physical. I’m clinging to that.

Luckily I won’t be alone on race day. A friend in Chicago will run with me, and M will be at checkpoints to hand off layers, electrolytes, and dried fruit. Having that support makes everything feel possible.

While packing and planning for the Windy City weekend, I realized I didn’t have a Halloween recipe roundup on Flora & Vino yet. Rather than worry about whether I’ll finish as a marathoner (I will!), I pulled together a festive collection for you.

This Halloween Recipe Round Up features more than 20 vegan and gluten-free recipes — candies, baked goods, and snacks — that you can mix and match for a seasonal spread. Everything here is plant-based and either naturally gluten-free or made with gluten-free ingredients so you can serve a crowd with varied preferences.
