Product description
What’s included: The package contains five pairs (ten pieces) of terminal rail joiners pre-wired for immediate installation. Each joiner is a nickel silver clip fitted with two color-coded leads — one red and one black — each approximately 8 inches long.
Wire and construction: The leads are 22 AWG solid, tinned copper wire, selected to provide dependable conductivity for both DCC and conventional DC systems. The joiners themselves are made from nickel silver to reduce corrosion and ensure consistent electrical contact with Code 100 and Code 83 HO rails.
Compatibility and fit: These terminal joiners are engineered to work with common HO systems including Atlas, Bachmann, Kato, and Walthers track. The design fits standard Code 100 and Code 83 rail profiles and slides on like a conventional rail joiner while carrying the attached conductors.
How they’re used: Install a joiner at the rail gap where you want a feeder; push the joiner onto the rail ends so the clip makes contact, then route the red and black leads to your bus, block, or detection circuit. Because the wires are pre-attached, there’s no need to solder directly to rails or ties, which speeds installation and reduces the risk of heat damage to plastic components.
Common applications: Use these for primary power feeds, supplemental feeders to reduce voltage drop on long runs, electrical block wiring, or connection points for detection modules. The color-coded leads help maintain consistent polarity during layout wiring and troubleshooting.
Notes: The fixed 8-inch lead length is convenient for many benchwork setups, but very thick baseboards or elevated risers may require extension or routing considerations. Each joiner arrives ready to connect so you can get feeders in place with minimal fuss.
Pros
- Pre-wired for quick, solder-free installation
- Nickel silver joiners with tinned copper leads resist corrosion
- Works with Code 100 and Code 83 HO track
Cons
- 8-inch leads can be short for very thick benchwork
- Fixed lead length may require splicing for some layouts
- Limited number of pairs per package for larger layouts
VerdictThese pre-wired terminal rail joiners offer a quick, solder-free method to add reliable electrical feeds to HO scale track. The nickel silver joiners and 22 AWG tinned copper leads provide good conductivity and corrosion resistance, and the 8-inch red/black wires keep polarity clear. They’re ideal for adding several localized power drops or fixing voltage drop on longer runs, though the fixed lead

Leads too brief for thick bases
My layout uses a half-inch plywood base topped with thick foam and tall risers, so the 8" leads barely reach the bus underneath. With 1/2" plywood plus added foam and risers I couldn’t easily connect to the main wiring without splicing in extensions or creating access holes. If your benchwork is deep or has multiple foam layers, plan to extend the leads or route them through an access panel.
