Product description
Gigabit speeds without frills — this three‑unit eero 6+ kit supports internet connections up to 1 Gbps and is backward‑compatible with earlier eero hardware. The pack includes three compact white nodes that are intended to be placed around the home to extend coverage up to about 4,500 square feet and handle 75-plus connected devices.
Built on Wi‑Fi 6 technology, the eero 6+ supports the wider 160 MHz radio channel for higher bandwidth where available, helping multiple users stream, game, and conference at once. TrueMesh routing dynamically directs traffic between nodes to reduce dead zones and minimize dropped connections.
Setup is handled through the eero mobile app, which walks you through connecting the primary node to your modem, adding additional nodes, and managing your network remotely. Units are housed in small, lightweight plastic enclosures designed to sit on a shelf or tabletop and blend into typical home environments.
The system receives automatic firmware updates to improve security and add features over time. For smart homes, each eero 6+ node includes a built‑in hub that can communicate with compatible Thread and Zigbee devices and integrates with voice assistant ecosystems, removing the need for many standalone hubs.
Pros
- Gigabit‑capable Wi‑Fi 6 with 160 MHz support
- Simple mobile app setup and remote management
- Built‑in Thread and Zigbee smart home hub
Cons
- Limited advanced configuration compared with high‑end routers
- May need wired backhaul or careful placement for full coverage
- Only two Ethernet ports per node
VerdictA straightforward mesh kit that brings gigabit‑class Wi‑Fi 6 coverage to mid‑sized homes. It’s easy to set up, improves reliability for multiple users and smart devices, and includes a built‑in Thread/Zigbee hub — with ongoing firmware updates and remote management via the eero app.

Thomas Perry Clinkscales 5/5
Extremely easy install and reliable everyday use
As someone not tech savvy, I found the app very helpful and the system fixed spotty Wi‑Fi in problem rooms. The interface shows connected devices and bandwidth, and overall the kit has been dependable for daily streaming and browsing.

Does what a mesh should—good value and reliable
After trying an alternative system, I preferred the simplicity and consistent performance here. Setup was dead simple via the app. I added a small gigabit switch for extra wired ports and run wired backhauls between pods for optimal throughput.

Great coverage and an exceptionally easy setup
My previous extender was failing and the modem was far from the main living areas. Packaging was tidy, the quick start card helped, and the app walked me through setting the first node and adding the rest. Within minutes coverage filled in dead spots.

Perfect for users who want hassle‑free networking
When my old router died I needed something quick while working from home. Ordered late, installed the next morning, and it was online within minutes. Extremely easy to set up and manage, which was the main selling point for me.

So simple even a non‑tech household can run it
Installed these in a rental where the ISP gear couldn't reach every floor. No drilling or extra cabling needed — the mesh spread the connection without rewiring. Setup is intuitive and worked well for tenants who don’t fiddle with networks.

Works but had compatibility and setup snags
Initial install was straightforward, but I couldn’t register the gateway where I have poor cell reception. A workaround using the old router’s Ethernet for registration fixed it. Note: some smart home integrations like MyQ required extra work to reconnect.

Failed to deliver consistent performance in our older home
We installed one node per floor in a 1900s wood‑frame house and used wired backhaul. Despite several months of use and helpful tech support, streaming devices often connected to distant nodes causing slow, pixelated video and buffering.

Solid mesh network—required a little trial and error
I bought the 3‑pack to fix complaints from visiting family. In our 2,800 sq ft ranch the primary node went where the old router lived, then I added the other two. It took some experimenting with placement, but once positioned the signal and reliability improved noticeably and the app made each step clear.
