Product description
What you get: a single pair of short-cuff sport gloves engineered for street and warm-weather riding. They arrive as a compact, low-profile glove intended for dynamic hand movement and close control.
Materials and construction: the outer shell blends full-grain leather on high-wear panels with 3D mesh across the backhand and finger areas to promote airflow. Internal stretch panels and pre-curved fingers are integrated to reduce fatigue and preserve dexterity. The palm and impact zones feature reinforced leather and landing-area overlays for abrasion resistance.
Protection and features: a hard polymer knuckle cap delivers impact protection and the palm/landing zones are strengthened to meet CE safety expectations. Fingertips are touch-capacitive for smartphone use, and a hook-and-loop wrist closure secures the glove to the hand. The short cuff profile is designed for street sport ergonomics and pairs well with jackets or tucked sleeves.
Fit and sizing: these gloves are shaped with a performance fit that feels snug out of the box and softens with wear. They are available in standard motorcycle glove sizing and include stretch inserts to accommodate hand movement during long rides.
Pros
- Excellent airflow from leather-and-3D-mesh combo
- CE-rated knuckle and reinforced palm protection
- Touchscreen-capable fingertips and secure closure
Cons
- Runs on the snug side initially; requires break-in
- Wrist closure can show wear over long-term use
- Not as cooling as some full-mesh alternatives
VerdictThe SMX-1 Air V2 pairs protective hard-shell knuckle armor and reinforced palm zones with a highly breathable leather-and-mesh build for hot-weather street use. They offer a performance-oriented fit and modern touches like touchscreen fingertips, though sizing trends toward a snug break-in. A strong option for urban and sport riders seeking CE-certified coverage with active ventilation.

Sizing surprised me — order a size up if unsure
Size chart pointed to medium but they were too snug. I reordered in large and that fit as expected. Comfortable and exactly what I hoped for.

Good materials, order up for fit
Comfortable and well made, but sizing leans small. I had to swap my large for an XL. Worth the exchange.

Most comfortable pair I've kept returning to
I've tested gloves from many manufacturers and these are the ones I keep reaching for. They start out a touch tight but open up during the break-in and stay comfortable. Interior seams are barely noticeable compared with others and the leather softens nicely. The wrist strap showed signs of wear after heavy use, but not enough to stop me using them. Wore them during two road crashes and my hands were protected. Phone use is reliable with the touch-capable tips.

Stretch out after a week of riding
At first they were very tight, but after daily rides for about a week the leather relaxed and the fit was great. Use the size guide and expect some stretch.

Solid construction and close fit
Very well made with a snug fit that gives good feel of the controls. Leather on the underside and breathable fabric on top make them practical for warm rides. Would recommend.

Nice quality but measure carefully
They look and feel well built. I measured and, thinking I was at the top of large, ordered XL — they're still tight. They'll likely loosen with use, but be mindful if you need them for a trip soon.

Good spring and summer glove
A solid option for warmer months. Size corresponds to the chart and they're a sensible pick.

Follow the common advice: size up
Sizing guidance to pick the larger size is accurate. I went with XL instead of the chart's large and they fit well. Quality was as expected from this maker.

Well built but consider a larger size
I replaced an older mesh pair with these to match my jacket and boots. Compared to my previous gloves they feel slightly smaller and the palm leather is a bit stiff at first, making hands tire more. They're sturdily made and the touchscreen works better than my old pair. If you're deciding, try one size up.
