Product description
Overview
A compact smart hygrometer designed to supply precise temperature and relative humidity readings — plus VPD calculations — to a Bluetooth companion app. The unit houses an integrated sensor in a small, lightweight plastic enclosure so it can fit into cramped spots and unobtrusively monitor microclimates. It reports instant values and records daily high and low readings for the location where it’s placed.
Connectivity and features
Pair the hygrometer to the vendor’s app using Bluetooth to view live climate readings, configure alarms, and receive push notifications for rapid response to temperature or humidity swings. The app displays calibrated temperature, RH, and VPD metrics, keeps historical graphs to reveal trends over time, and allows export of logged data as CSV files for further analysis. Alarm thresholds can be set to warn of excursions, and the unit’s long battery life reduces maintenance frequency.
Physical design and mounting
The device is pocket-sized with a lightweight plastic case for easy placement on a tabletop, wall-mounting, or attachment with the built-in magnet to metal surfaces. Its discreet footprint makes it suitable for small enclosures and tight corners where a larger monitor wouldn’t fit.
Intended uses
This Bluetooth hygrometer is suitable for grow rooms, grow tents, greenhouses, curing cabinets, and closet-style builds where environmental control matters. It also works well for monitoring basements, guitar and instrument cabinets, reptile terrariums, chicken coops, and server or electronics enclosures where steady temperature and humidity are important.
Pros
- Compact, lightweight design fits tight spaces
- Calibrated temp, humidity and VPD readings to app
- Historical graphs and CSV export for trend analysis
Cons
- Bluetooth-only connection — no Wi‑Fi cloud sync
- VPD visibility and some features tucked into settings
- App graphs could be more intuitive
VerdictThe A2 is a small, portable climate sensor that reliably streams calibrated temperature, humidity, and VPD data to a Bluetooth app. It’s easy to position in tight spaces and provides daily high/low values, remote alerts, and downloadable logs. The app’s charting could be clearer and some UI elements (like quick VPD visibility) are buried, but for monitoring grow tents, greenhouses, cabinets, or de

Solid purchase
Everything I’ve tried from this maker has performed well.

Precise
Bluetooth connection works flawlessly.

Excellent for remote tracking
These Bluetooth hygrometers are very useful and reasonably priced. I have three for a curing cabinet, a small grow box VPD check, and general use. Their small size and multiple mounting options make placement straightforward. Historical data gives context over time, though the app’s charts could be clearer. Readings seem consistent with older units I own.

Great for herb storage
Ideal for ensuring herbs are kept in their optimal storage conditions.

Outstanding device
Really impressed — what a great gadget.

Dependable and accurate
I keep one in each guitar case and another in the basement. They use little power and matched my Boveda test, so calibration seems solid and performance dependable.

Unstable readings in sealed chamber
Not steady for me. Placed in a closed chamber with fixed conditions this unit fluctuated while other thermometers stayed stable.

VPD hidden and no widget
On iOS there’s no home screen widget and VPD is not shown at a glance — you must open device settings. Uses a 3V cell which I don’t love. They work as regular hygrometers, but the VPD feature is inconvenient to access.

Handy compact sensor — want more of them
This A2 paired with the app right away and reports clear temp and humidity. I move it from my greenhouse to an indoor planter and Bluetooth reconnects without fuss. Reliable and economical — I’ll add a few around the house.

Bluetooth only — no Wi‑Fi
Handy device but it only connects via Bluetooth to your phone. That means no cloud access unless you keep a phone or bridge nearby, though it does operate without an internet dongle.

Probe shown but not included
Images suggested a probe would be included, but mine arrived without one. That was misleading.

RH accurate, temp slightly off
Humidity readings are very close to a Boveda pack after 12 hours, about 1% off. Temperature reads roughly 2°C low; calibration helps but that caused frustration. Also the pictured probe is not included, which felt misleading.

So good I bought three
With many tropical plants and two converted cabinets, these sensors were a great upgrade from my bulky old unit. I removed the tab, paired the app, and the magnet mounting was useful. The app found each sensor quickly and setup was painless.
