Product description
This inflow lily pipe has an outer diameter of 17mm made to accept canister filter tubing of 5/8" i.d. (16/22mm).
Set contents: 1x glass lily pipe surface skimmer inflow, 2x suction cups for positioning, and 1x 90cm stainless spring brush for cleaning the stem and internal bore. The brush is long enough to reach most curved sections and the glass pipe can be rinsed after brushing.
Construction: the main tube is hand-formed high-quality glass; the floating skimmer dome is molded from clear ABS acrylic for buoyancy and visibility. A removable flow control sits near the base of the intake so you can throttle suction to match your tank’s needs.
Function: intended for use with external canister filters, the skimmer section rides the top water layer and automatically adjusts to level changes, pulling surface film into the intake. The 360-degree inflow design allows water to enter from all sides, reducing directional clogging and simplifying routine maintenance.
Usage notes: install the glass stem in the tank with the suction cups to position it, connect to 5/8" (16/22mm) tubing on your canister intake, and adjust the flow control as required. Clean internal passages with the included spring brush to maintain unrestricted flow.
Pros
- Clear glass construction with ABS skimmer dome
- Includes suction cups and long stainless cleaning brush
- 360° intake and auto-adjusting surface skimmer
Cons
- Hose attachment can feel insecure without a clamp
- May not perform well on very large, high-flow setups
- Float can be pulled down if intake clogs
VerdictA straightforward glass inflow surface skimmer intended for canister filters using 5/8" (16/22mm) tubing. The unit is well finished and the floating ABS skimmer helps remove surface film while self-adjusting to water level. Performance is reliable in appropriately sized tanks, but some users report fit and suction issues on larger setups and with the hose attachment. Good value for smaller aquariu

Not safe for small fish or shrimp
Flow control sits low on the intake and is awkward to reach once installed. If the screen clogs even a little, it stops pulling from the surface and starts drawing from below—my small fish and shrimp were getting pulled into the filter. Found many trapped during maintenance. Poor design for tanks with fragile livestock.

Sank instead of skimming
Sank below the surface, didn't skim the top as expected.

Prone to damage
Glass is fragile and can crack easily during handling.

Clean, discreet and effective on smaller setups
Fits 5/8" tubing perfectly and sits nearly invisible in the tank. The skimmer holds at the surface well and the removable flow regulator makes cleaning easier. The included cleaning brush helps maintain flow; overall a solid performer in appropriately sized aquaria.

Float pulled down, weak mounting
Suction cups failed to hold the stem securely. The float kept getting sucked into the intake; when I throttled flow to prevent that, surface skimming stopped.

Well made but too small for my tank
Nicely finished and similar to higher-end models, but far too small to handle my 125 gal setup. Would work well in a smaller aquarium.

Hose attachment unreliable
No clamp or secure connector—hose just gets pushed on and can slip off. I returned it and chose a stainless option that included a clamp.
