Product description
Pair included: two full‑length carbon fiber plates (one per shoe) at a thickness of 1.3 mm, intended to sit beneath an existing removable insole.
Sizing and installation: determine fit by removing your shoe’s insole and measuring it straight from heel to toe; choose the size that matches that length — no subtraction or trimming math required. Set each carbon plate flat on the shoe footbed, then put the original insole back over the plate so it stays in place during wear.
Clinical use: the rigid full‑length plate is built to restrict excessive bending at the forefoot and first MTP joint. It’s aimed at conditions such as hallux rigidus, hallux limitus, turf toe, forefoot fractures and arthritis, providing firmer control during walking and activity. For injury or post‑operative uses, consult your healthcare provider before relying on these inserts.
Materials and construction: manufactured from 3K twill‑weave carbon fiber, the plates combine high stiffness and tensile strength with a slim, lightweight profile. The corrosion‑resistant composite holds a flat shape over repeated use and sports a polished twill surface for a neat appearance.
Compatible footwear: designed to fit shoes with a removable insole and adequate interior room — walking shoes, trainers, casual sneakers, work shoes and many boots. Confirm a flat footbed and sufficient toe‑box space before buying. Narrow, pointed‑toe, high‑heeled or shoes with built‑in/nonremovable liners are unlikely to accept the plate.
Pros
- Firm forefoot and big‑toe control
- Lightweight, durable 3K twill carbon
- Simple measure‑and‑install under removable insoles
Cons
- Requires removable insole and interior space
- Can alter gait and cause body‑compensation soreness
- Not suitable for narrow, pointed, or high‑heel footwear
VerdictThese 1.3 mm full‑length carbon fiber plates deliver lightweight, durable forefoot rigidity and are a practical, low‑profile option for people needing controlled toe motion during recovery. They install beneath removable insoles and are made from 3K twill weave for strength and a refined look. They won’t fit shoes with fixed liners, narrow point toes, or high heels, and stiffening can change your

Major relief for midfoot arthritis
I coach CrossFit and had midfoot arthritis; this insert made a huge difference. I still have some discomfort, but workouts are no longer devastating — a life‑improving change.

Stiffens the shoe without being totally inflexible
These add noticeable stiffness but aren’t rock solid, which suited my needs. They cut down flex in a regular athletic shoe, but changing the shoe’s flex altered my gait — I felt new leg muscle soreness and lower‑back pain after a long hike. Watch how your body adapts.

Gave worn shoes renewed purpose
I used these to revive shoes whose original insoles had deteriorated and they worked exactly as needed. The plates are rigid and substantial, can be trimmed, thin enough to add structure without taking much space, and much cheaper than replacing otherwise serviceable shoes. They extended the useful life of footwear that was only worn out inside.

Follow the measuring instructions
Doctor recommended these. I measured the insole as directed and they fit great.

Works only if the shoe opening allows insertion
Length wasn’t my problem — it was whether the shoe’s opening let me slip the plate in fully. If it slides or bunches, changing size may not fix it. I kept them in the shoes that accommodated them, but I don’t wear those shoes much, so I probably won’t reorder.

Exactly what I needed for a stress fracture
Worked perfectly for a stress fracture below my second toe. The wafer‑thin carbon plates gave the rigidity my ortho offered as an alternative to a walking cast, letting me drive and get around with crutches at 70% weight bearing. I placed them under the removable insoles of my ankle‑high hiking boots, loosened the laces and used thinner socks to avoid numbness. Thin but very stiff — great fit and function.

Surprisingly effective
I was skeptical at first, but these proved to be a lifesaver.
