Product description
A distinctive black tea blend that highlights fruity and floral notes said to evoke the Bermuda triangle. The leaves are packaged as loose leaf in an elegant Haute Couture tin, containing 100 grams of tea.
Included is a single 100g tin of TWG 1837 black tea; the container is metal with decorative styling meant to preserve freshness. The blend combines black tea leaves with carefully selected fruits and flower accents for a lingering, rounded finish.
To brew: pour water heated to 95°C over 2.5 g of tea per cup and steep for 2–3 minutes. Remove the leaves after infusion and serve. The tea can be enjoyed plain, with a dash of milk, or lightly sweetened according to preference.
TWG produces a wide assortment of single-estate and curated blends sourced from celebrated tea regions, combining fruits, flowers and spices to create seasonal and signature offerings. This 1837 blend is positioned as a refined option suitable for gifting and special moments.
Pros
- Complex fruit-and-floral flavor profile
- Stylish 100g couture tin for gifting and storage
- Versatile — enjoyable with or without milk
Cons
- Not budget-friendly compared with everyday blends
- Floral elements may not appeal to all palates
- 100g tin may be small for heavy drinkers
VerdictThis 1837 black tea delivers a layered aroma and a clear fruit-and-flower character that pairs well with or without milk. The couture 100g tin is attractive for gifting and keeps leaves protected. It’s a premium choice for occasional indulgence or special occasions.

Lives Up to the Hype
First taste of 1837: exceptional for a black tea. Candy-like aroma and a distinct caramel note without overt sweetness. Few blends impress me so much.
