Product description
Industrial-grade purple ceramic grit — This product uses a high-performance ceramic abrasive that tends to shed its worn grains and expose fresh cutting edges, improving cutting speed and reducing heat buildup compared with ordinary aluminum-oxide discs. In high-use settings the ceramic media often outlasts typical zirconia and aluminum-oxide alternatives, reducing disc swaps and downtime.
Type 29 conical profile — The discs are manufactured in a curved Type 29 (T29) geometry, sized at 5 inches and built to mount on standard grinders with a 7/8" arbor. The angled profile is intended for blending, edge work and contouring where a sloped contact surface helps control the cut.
Medium 60-grit balance — The listed configuration is centered on a medium grit that offers a compromise between aggressive material removal and surface control. It is suitable for weld cleanup, deburring and general fabrication where you need efficient stock removal without losing control.
Robust layered flap construction — Each disc is made from densely packed abrasive flaps bonded to a reinforced backing plate. The backing uses a thicker fiberglass-style substrate to resist cracking and reduce shedding under high-speed, heavy-duty grinding.
Workshop applications — These ceramic flap discs are intended for use on stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, and cast iron. Typical jobs include rust and paint removal, weld blending, deburring edges and preparing metal for finishing or painting in construction, fabrication and repair shops.
Usage notes — Mount on a 5" grinder with a 7/8" arbor, wear appropriate PPE, and select the grit that matches the phase of the job: coarser for heavy stock removal, finer for finishing and final blending.
Pros
- Fast-cutting, self-renewing ceramic grit
- Fits standard 5" grinders with 7/8" arbor
- Sturdy reinforced backing and dense flaps
Cons
- Consumable; heavy pressure accelerates wear
- Less flexible than some cloth-backed options
- Aggressive grits can remove too much if used carelessly
VerdictThese 5" ceramic Type 29 flap discs deliver rapid material removal with cooler running and extended life compared with standard abrasives. They suit edge shaping, weld blending and general metal cleanup on steels and cast iron. Durable flap construction and a sturdy backing give reliable performance, though aggressive use will wear consumables faster. Overall a solid choice for frequent metal fabr

Gets mower blades razor sharp
Good pack of discs — I sharpened my lawn mower blade to a clean, precise edge and it now cuts turf much better. Exactly what I needed.

Very good — fits multiple grinders
The 20-pack and selected grits suit many jobs. They mounted easily on my Makita and another cordless grinder, and performance was satisfying for workshop tasks. They show normal wear but seem to last a bit longer than some alternatives. Price felt fair for the results.

Complete kit for most grinding jobs
This pack covers many tasks — rust, paint and grime removal — and lets you move through grit levels as needed. I stripped a mower deck before welding and the discs resisted clogging, so each one lasted well. Good all-around supply.

Reliable for frequent use
I use these up quickly, so I keep reordering the mixed pack. They fit my grinder and removed paint and rust while cleaning up welds. Each disc lasted a good while before replacement.

Dependable for medium to heavy rust
These flapper discs remove medium to heavy rust on flat metal surfaces effectively — a step up when a wire brush won't suffice. They are consumables, but with proper technique last similarly to other brands. The mixed grits are convenient, and the discs can be used on non-metal materials if you avoid clogging the abrasive; an air nozzle helps keep them clean.

Great for vehicle body and rust prep
Used this 20-piece set to strip paint from van panels before welding. They cut through paint and rust cleanly and run cooler, so I wasn't worried about warping panels. They also outperformed a wire brush at removing surface rust and saved time.

Customer Review 4/5
Sharp, varied grits for prep and finish
Ordered the 115mm mixed-grit pack and they fit my grinder well. Started with 40 grit to clear rust from angle iron for welding, then used 120 to clean brackets before painting. They worked quickly and made welding prep straightforward.

RFH 5/5
Solid assortment, measured performance
This mixed-grit pack delivers on dimensions and fits my grinders without issue. Low sparking, low vibration and quick cutting are noticeable. Ceramic lasts longer than aluminum oxide for heavy removal, though these discs are slightly thinner than premium options, which affects perceived durability.

Good quality and versatile use
Quality matches what you'd expect from store-bought ceramic flap discs. I use them for smoothing metal and sharpening mower blades; they fit my battery grinder perfectly. Longevity depends on material and pressure, but these have held up through multiple jobs. Confirm the size for your grinder before ordering.

CA Contractor 5/5
Handy for coastal restoration and heavy rust
As a contractor doing exterior hardscape near the coast, these mixed ceramic discs handled corroded metal and old paint very well. They mount flush to standard arbors and cut through layered buildup while staying cooler than conventional discs. They also seem to tolerate damp conditions better than older abrasive types.

Ground Loop Garage 5/5
Comfortable angle and solid build
These flap discs are decent; the slight bevel works well since grinders are often held at an angle. Check clearance between the guard and disc before fitting. Wear rate is comparable to other flap discs — pushing hard speeds wear and heat. The base looks like reinforced fiber and the flaps are firmly attached, not floppy.

120-grit cuts and tears through rust
Picked up the 4½" 120-grit discs and they feel well made — flaps are securely bonded and the center hub is solid. The 120 grit spins fast and removes rust and scale efficiently. Great value for bulk buying; my grinder chewed through the work and the discs kept up.
